Pride

This was submitted for deviantArt's Pride Month celebration.
The piece, a celebration of life that I entitle Pride, may be the most important art piece featured in this celebration. Of course, this goes without explanation. However, you may be surprised to hear that this adorable figure you've been enjoying is actually an effeminate boy, known as a "trap." Traps aren't necessarily gay, but not that there's anything wrong with being gay. You can be gay and enjoy traps, but you can also be straight and enjoy traps. You can be a man or a woman and enjoy traps. Traps are for everyone. Even the Romans enjoyed traps.

In ancient Rome, there was a slave boy that we know as Sporus. When Emperor Nero's wife Poppaea Sabina died (supposedly kicked to death by Nero), Nero found the slave boy, who apparently resembled his wife. He had the boy castrated, and had the slave dress as his wife, use her name, and fulfill her bedroom duties. After the death of Nero, Sporus was married to the Praetorian prefect Nymphidius Sabinus, followed by Otho, who had once been married to Poppaea. When Otho died, after three months as emperor, the new emperor, Vitellius, scheduled for Sporus to be publicly raped by a gladiator, so the slave boy killed himself. His precise age throughout these events is unknown, but as far as we can tell, he died before even turning 20 years old.

This story leaves us with many questions. Am I going to think of Sporus whenever I look at traps? Should Sporus feel pride for being a trap? Should Nero feel pride for loving a trap? Was it gay for Nero to have a relationship with a trap? Would we still be proud of our lives if we didn't have traps? Please feel free to discuss these questions, and remember to feel pride for yourself, whether you be heterosexual, homosexual, bisexual, trisexual, or some absurd orientation you named yourself or found on a list of sexualities.
